After the lull in involvement the decade before, students wanted to bring the beloved tradition back.

The revival started off slowly and gradually picked up to involve fun field games and contents, like sumo wrestling! This decade laid the foundation for future and current UMW students to regain the excitement and love of Devil-Goat Day that the decades before the 1990s had.

Sumo Fighting, 2003

As a part of the Devil-Goat Day competition activities, students participated in “Sumo Fighting” in large fake suits, attempting to knock each other out of the ring.
