You may have noticed that this page is… fairly empty.
That is not by accident. As stated in 1950s, student involvement and interest in events like Devil-Goat Day ebbs and flows.
This decade saw a massive decrease in student involvement with the celebration. This may have been due to changes in school administration or simply an unexplained lack of enthusiasm across the MWC campus.
Another possible cause for the disinterest in Devil-Goat Day was the change in the legal drinking age. In 1984, Reagan changed the age from 18 to 21,1 making half the student body unable to participate in alcohol-related activities, like having a drink with a professor to celebrate Devil-Goat Day.
