Devil Broomstick Banner, 1957
To start off the Devil-Goat Day festivities, students would walk out with banners and flags to show their teams pride. This particular banner is being held up with broomsticks, showing the creativity and dedication of MWC students to their devil or goat identities.

Students cheer for the Devils, 1957
The 1950s saw huge student involvement in Devil-Goat Day. The students at MWC had always been involved, but after WWII, the students on campus celebrated the annual event with enthusiasm unmatched by previous classes. Like with any campus event, student involvement ebbs and flows. In the 1950s, involvement reached a peak.

Festivities During Devil Goat Day, 1951
For the students attending MWC during the 1950s, the countdown to Devil-Goat Day on a clock was a fond tradition. The flags that represent the devils and goats respectively are present and all the freshmen are sporting the ‘freshie’ caps they were required to keep on until after Devil-Goat Day.

“I’d rather be a Devil than a Goat,” 1954

The devils of 1957 approach from the door prepared to fight until victory is theirs.

Devils Triumphed, 1954
1954 saw the victory of the devils with a student, who may have been a goat, being unpleasantly surprised by the person capturing the moment.

The Devil Dip, 1956
Freshman at MWC in the year 1956 went to the Devil Dip, the first dance of the year, giving students an opportunity to bond over their new lives ahead and learn to love the devil descriptor.

Take Those Caps Off! 1952
Freshman at MWC waited for the clock to wind down to 12 so they could throw their freshie caps away and look forward to seeing the incoming class of freshman continue tradition.

Description: The ‘big events’ on this yearbook page from 1951 are Devil-Goat Day parades, rallies, and a competition in which the Goats won. All these events allowed for the students at MWC to show their pride and get spirited for Devil-Goat Day.
